All Ages Welcome
Travis is a classical guitar teacher that has helped guitarists of all ages and abilities throughout Colorado to establish a solid technique from the very first note played to Bach preludes, advanced recording projects, and students who have struggled with lifelong tension issues. As a classical guitarist and Alexander Technique student, one of Travis's passions is guitar pedagogy. Establishing this free and easy technique is the most important aspect of learning an instrument at any age.
For children, Travis provides a challenging and fun curriculum for his students, helping them to build on each skill in order to achieve a higher level of music and guitar proficiency. Whether a young student decides to pursue music professionally or casually, Travis's exceptional teaching of solid guitar techniques, devoid of physical tension or bad habits, will allow the student to decide their own path, learn the life lessons of patience and dedications, and most of all, drive their passion and love of music.
Individualized Lesson Plans
In the studio, he strives to cater each lesson to his students' individual needs, discovering and developing their own unique gifts and personal goals. You can expect to learn proper technique, note reading and music theory as well as developing strong sight-reading skills. There is a focus on correct posture, rest and free stroke, as well as the ease of musical production and stage presence through a variety of methods, including the Bridges Royal Conservatory method.
Whether you wish to perform professionally or to play in your local church or living room, professional, private guitar lessons can be a rewarding experience. Travis's students range from young children to seniors of all abilities and aspirations. He also prepares pre-college students for their auditions and entrance into college music programs in guitar and theory.
