About Travis Chastain

Travis Chastain is a native Coloradan who owns a diverse private guitar studio, offering music classes for kids and adults, and performs professionally in solo concerts, ensembles, weddings and special events throughout the Rocky Mountain Region.

Travis completed his Bachelors of Music in Guitar Performance at Lamont in 2009, during which he studied a semester in Italy, performing with various chamber ensembles throughout Milano and Genoa. He has been accepted into several prestigious music programs including the New England Conservatory of Music and the University of Southern California before accepting a graduate teaching assistantship and scholarship from the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music. Travis completed his Masters of Music in Guitar Performance in 2014, studying with renowned guitarist and pedagogue, Ricardo Iznaola.

Travis has gained recognition with his musical pursuits in both solo and chamber performances, resulting in numerous honors, including an honorable mention in the 2010 Chamber Competition at the Lamont School of Music and soloist with the Sage Ensemble of Denver during their 2013-14 season. 

Currently, Travis is both a performing soloist and private music teacher, building his guitar studio of over 40 students. His teaching experience extends to not only children, but also has guitar classes for adults as well. Travis is also on the on the music faculty at the Avanti Music Academy. He is working on completing his Alexander Technique Certification with an AmSAT approved teacher-training program, Alexander Technique Denver. Travis is hoping to be finished with his training program in the next 2 years and works to incorporate the principles into his practice and everyday teaching.
